Terms and Conditions
Last updated: 13 August 2026
These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the Village Pharmacy website and the purchase or supply of products and services through it.
Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before using our website, creating an account, requesting treatment or placing an order.
By using our website or placing an order, you agree to these Terms and Conditions. Where you purchase goods or services from us, these Terms form part of the agreement between you and Village Pharmacy.
Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
1. About Our Service
Village Pharmacy provides pharmacy, healthcare and related online services. Depending on the services available through our website, these may include:
- the sale of non-prescription medicines;
- the dispensing and supply of prescription medicines;
- access to private prescribing or consultation services;
- NHS pharmacy services where available;
- healthcare products, medical devices and other retail products; and
- pharmacy advice and related healthcare services.
Details of the pharmacy, including applicable professional registration information, are displayed on our website.
Some services available through our website may be provided in conjunction with appropriately regulated third-party healthcare providers. Where another provider is responsible for a particular service, we will identify this where appropriate and additional terms may apply.
2. Who May Use Our Website
You may browse our website for general information. To create an account, place an order or request a private treatment or prescribing service, you must normally be aged 18 or over.
Where we expressly allow a parent, guardian, carer or other authorised person to use a service on behalf of someone else, you must have the appropriate authority to do so and provide accurate information about the person for whom the service is being requested.
Some medicines, products or services may have additional age, eligibility, identity or clinical requirements.
3. Your Responsibilities
When using Village Pharmacy, you agree to:
- provide information that is accurate, complete and not misleading;
- keep relevant medical and personal information up to date;
- answer clinical questions honestly and to the best of your knowledge;
- provide additional information or evidence where reasonably required for safe or lawful supply;
- use medicines only for the person for whom they have been prescribed or supplied;
- follow the directions provided by the prescriber, pharmacist, product label and Patient Information Leaflet where applicable;
- inform an appropriate healthcare professional about relevant changes to your health, medication or circumstances where necessary;
- keep your account and login details secure; and
- use our website and services only for lawful purposes.
Providing false, incomplete or misleading information in connection with a medicine or healthcare service may put your health at risk and may result in a request or order being refused or cancelled.
4. Medical and Healthcare Information
General information provided on our website is intended to support, not replace, individual advice from an appropriate healthcare professional.
Information about a medicine, condition or treatment on our website does not mean that a particular medicine or treatment is suitable for you.
Where a service includes a clinical consultation, prescribing assessment or pharmacist review, decisions will be based on the information available to the relevant healthcare professional and their professional judgement.
Village Pharmacy is not an emergency medical service. If you believe you or another person is experiencing a medical emergency, call 999 or seek appropriate emergency medical assistance.
5. Prescription and Clinical Services
Where our website allows you to request prescription treatment, submitting a consultation, questionnaire, treatment request or payment does not guarantee that a prescription will be issued or that a medicine will be supplied.
A prescriber or pharmacy professional may need to:
- ask additional clinical questions;
- verify information you have provided;
- confirm your identity;
- request supporting information or evidence;
- review relevant medical or medication information where lawful and appropriate;
- contact you or another healthcare professional where appropriate; or
- request another form of consultation where necessary.
A treatment request may be declined where the relevant healthcare professional considers that treatment is not clinically appropriate, there is insufficient information to make a safe decision, further assessment is required, or the medicine cannot lawfully or safely be supplied.
A pharmacist may also decline to dispense or supply a medicine where there is a professional, clinical, legal or patient-safety reason for doing so.
The clinical judgement of the relevant healthcare professional is independent and cannot be overridden by payment, previous treatment, availability of a product, a promotional offer or a customer’s preference for a particular medicine.
6. NHS Pharmacy Services
Where Village Pharmacy offers NHS pharmacy services, those services may be subject to separate NHS eligibility, prescription and service requirements.
Where use of a particular service involves nomination of Village Pharmacy to receive electronic prescriptions, this will be explained as part of the relevant service or registration process.
The availability of private pharmacy services or products on our website does not necessarily mean that the same product or service is available through the NHS.
7. Orders and Contract Formation
When you place an order through our website, you are making a request to purchase the relevant goods or services.
An automated order confirmation or payment confirmation acknowledges that we have received your request. It does not necessarily mean that the order, prescription request or treatment request has been accepted.
Where appropriate, an order is accepted when we expressly confirm acceptance, dispatch the goods, or otherwise begin providing the agreed service.
Orders involving medicines remain subject to any necessary legal, clinical, prescribing, dispensing and pharmacy checks.
We may decline or cancel an order before acceptance where, for example:
- a product is unavailable;
- a medicine is not clinically appropriate;
- we cannot verify information necessary for safe supply;
- we cannot lawfully supply the product or service;
- there is an obvious pricing or website error;
- payment cannot be authorised;
- we suspect fraud, misuse or inappropriate ordering; or
- we are otherwise unable to fulfil the order safely or lawfully.
Where we cancel an order and have already taken payment for goods or services that will not be supplied, the appropriate amount will be refunded.
8. Prices and Payment
Prices applicable to products or services will be displayed on our website before you complete your order.
Any applicable delivery charges or other mandatory charges will be shown before you place the order.
We may change prices from time to time, but a later price change will not normally affect an order that we have already accepted.
If we discover an obvious pricing error before an order has been accepted, we may cancel the affected order or contact you to give you the opportunity to purchase the product at the correct price.
Payment must be made using one of the payment methods made available during checkout.
Payment may be authorised or collected before all pharmacy or clinical checks have been completed. Taking or authorising payment does not guarantee that a medicine will be prescribed or supplied.
9. Product Information
We take reasonable care to ensure that product information on our website is accurate and up to date.
Product packaging, appearance or presentation may occasionally differ from images shown on the website, for example where a manufacturer updates its packaging. This will not affect your statutory rights or our obligation to supply goods that conform to the applicable contract.
You should always read the packaging, label, Patient Information Leaflet and other information supplied with a medicine or healthcare product before use.
If the information supplied with a product differs from general information displayed on our website, or you are unsure how to use a medicine, please contact us or speak to an appropriate healthcare professional before using it.
10. Availability of Medicines and Products
All products and medicines are subject to availability and, where applicable, appropriate clinical and pharmacy checks.
Displaying a medicine or product on our website does not guarantee that it is currently available, suitable for you or available for supply in every circumstance.
We may place reasonable limits on quantities, frequency of ordering or repeat purchases where necessary for patient safety, responsible medicines supply, stock management or compliance with applicable requirements.
11. Delivery
Delivery options, estimated times, charges and any relevant restrictions are explained in our Delivery Policy.
Medicines may require specific delivery, security, storage or temperature-control arrangements. The delivery services available for an order may therefore depend on the products being supplied.
Please ensure that the delivery information you provide is accurate and that appropriate arrangements are made to receive and safely store any medicines that require particular handling.
Delivery estimates may be affected by pharmacy processing, clinical assessment, stock availability and events outside our reasonable control.
Nothing in these Terms or our Delivery Policy affects your statutory rights in relation to delivery.
12. Cancellations, Returns and Refunds
Your rights to cancel an order, return a product or receive a refund depend on the type of product or service involved and the circumstances of the order.
Different rules may apply to prescription medicines, other medicines, sealed health or hygiene products and ordinary retail goods.
Please refer to our Returns, Refunds and Cancellations Policy for further information.
Nothing in that policy or these Terms limits your statutory rights where goods are faulty, damaged, incorrectly supplied or not as described.
13. Medicines You No Longer Require
Medicines that have been supplied to a patient cannot normally be returned for resale or supplied to another patient.
If you have unwanted or unused medicines, please contact us or a local community pharmacy for advice about safe disposal.
Do not send unwanted medicines to us through the post unless we have specifically instructed you to do so.
Returning a medicine for safe disposal does not itself create a right to a refund.
14. Promotions and Discount Codes
From time to time, Village Pharmacy may offer promotions, discounts or promotional codes.
Promotions may be subject to additional conditions, such as an expiry date, minimum spend, eligible products or restrictions on combining offers. Any material conditions will be communicated with the relevant promotion.
Promotions have no cash value unless expressly stated otherwise.
We may refuse or cancel use of a promotion where we reasonably believe it has been obtained or used fraudulently, unlawfully or contrary to the stated promotional conditions.
Where a promotion relates to a pharmacy or healthcare service, the promotion does not guarantee that you are suitable for treatment or that a particular medicine will be prescribed or supplied.
15. Accounts and Security
If you create an account with Village Pharmacy, you are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and taking reasonable steps to prevent unauthorised access to your account.
Please contact us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without permission or your login information has been compromised.
We may temporarily restrict or suspend access to an account where reasonably necessary to investigate suspected fraud, misuse, security concerns or risks to patient safety.
16. Acceptable Use of Our Website
You must not use our website:
- for any unlawful, fraudulent or abusive purpose;
- to obtain medicines through false, incomplete or misleading information;
- to obtain medicines for resale or unauthorised supply;
- to impersonate another person without appropriate authority;
- to interfere with the operation, security or integrity of the website;
- to introduce viruses, malicious software or other harmful material;
- to attempt unauthorised access to our website, systems or data; or
- in any other way that could place patients, the public, our staff or our systems at risk.
We may restrict or terminate access to our services where reasonably necessary in response to serious or repeated misuse.
17. Intellectual Property
Unless otherwise stated, the content of the Village Pharmacy website, including its text, layout, graphics, branding, software and other materials, is owned by us or used under licence.
You may use our website and its content for your personal, non-commercial use.
You must not reproduce, republish, distribute, commercially exploit or substantially copy our content without permission unless this is permitted by law.
Third-party trade marks, images or other materials remain the property of their respective owners.
18. Third-Party Websites and Services
Our website may contain links to external websites or use services provided by third parties.
We are not responsible for the content, availability or practices of a separate third-party website that we do not control.
Where a third-party provider is directly involved in delivering part of a pharmacy, prescribing, payment, delivery or other service to you, its role and any relevant terms will be explained where appropriate.
19. Privacy and Cookies
We process personal information in accordance with applicable data protection law and our Privacy Policy.
Health information and other information provided as part of a pharmacy or clinical service may require additional protection because of its sensitive nature.
Our Cookies Policy explains how cookies and similar technologies are used on our website and how you can manage your choices.
20. Website Availability
We aim to keep our website and services available and functioning correctly, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted access at all times.
We may temporarily suspend or restrict parts of the website for maintenance, security, technical reasons, regulatory requirements or circumstances outside our reasonable control.
Where reasonably possible, we will seek to minimise disruption.
Temporary website unavailability does not affect rights you may already have in relation to an accepted order or service.
21. Our Responsibility to You
We do not exclude or limit responsibility where doing so would be unlawful.
In particular, nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any liability or consumer right that cannot legally be excluded or restricted.
If we fail to comply with these Terms, we may be responsible for loss or damage that is a foreseeable result of our breach or failure to use reasonable care and skill.
We are not responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when the relevant contract was formed, except where the law provides otherwise.
Our website and consumer services are intended primarily for personal and domestic use. We are therefore not normally responsible for business losses such as loss of profit, revenue, business opportunity or business interruption arising from a consumer’s use of our services.
Nothing in this section affects your statutory rights.
22. Events Outside Our Reasonable Control
There may be occasions when we are prevented from or delayed in providing a service because of circumstances outside our reasonable control, such as significant transport disruption, telecommunications failures, severe weather, supply-chain disruption or failure of essential third-party infrastructure.
Where this occurs, we will take reasonable steps to minimise the effect on you and to fulfil our legal obligations.
If such an event significantly affects an order or service, any rights you have to cancel or obtain another remedy under applicable law will continue to apply.
23. Complaints and Feedback
If you are dissatisfied with a product, pharmacy service or other aspect of Village Pharmacy, please contact us so that we can investigate the matter.
Where applicable, complaints relating to pharmacy, NHS, prescribing or other regulated healthcare services may also be subject to specific complaints procedures. Further information will be provided through our Complaints Policy or upon request.
24. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms and any contract between you and Village Pharmacy are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
If you are a consumer living elsewhere in the United Kingdom, you will continue to benefit from any mandatory consumer protections that apply to you, and nothing in these Terms is intended to prevent you from bringing proceedings in a court available to you under applicable law.
We encourage you to contact us first if a dispute arises so that we have an opportunity to resolve the matter.
25. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time to reflect changes to our website, services, business practices, applicable law or regulatory requirements.
The version published on our website at the time you place an order will normally apply to that order.
A later change to these Terms will not retrospectively reduce your contractual or statutory rights in relation to an order already accepted, except where a change is required by law or otherwise lawfully agreed with you.
The latest version will always be available on our website.
26. General
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply.
If we do not immediately enforce a right under these Terms, this does not mean that we have waived that right.
No person other than you and Village Pharmacy, or another person expressly identified as a party to the relevant contract, will normally have rights to enforce these Terms.
27. Contact Us
If you have any questions about these Terms and Conditions, please contact us or email us at villagepharmacygd@gmail.com.
